Hearthside Books has hosted five book signing events with bestselling author Homer Hickam.  Homer Hickam is best known for his memoir Rocket Boys which was made into a major motion picture October Sky.

March 2007 - 50th Birthday Party for Cat in the Hat  Those attending this event enjoyed birthday cake, party favors and prizes.  Hearthside Books donated  Dr. Seuss books to area public libraries for each book purchased.

March 2007 - Hearthside Books hosted a book signing for Nationally acclaimed author Jeanette Walls, author of the best seller The Glass Castle.
